Avast Antivirus
Avast Antivirus is a family of internet securityapplications developed by Avast Software forMicrosoft Windows, macOS, Android and iOS. The Avast Antivirus products include free andproprietary versions that provide computer security, browser security, antivirus software,firewall, anti-phishing, anti-spyware and anti-spam among other services.[2]
As of 2017, Avast is the most popular antivirus on the market,[3] and it had the largest share of the market for antivirus applications.[4]

Avast programs are only available to internet-connected devices, and are available in 45 languages. The Avast product range includes the following:[5]
Microsoft Windows products
- Avast Free Antivirus – Free for non-commercial and home usage. This product's features include antivirus, WiFi security scanner and a password manager. Requires 1-year registration and includes advertisements for other Avast products.
- Avast Pro Antivirus – For home use. Includes all features of the Free version, with the addition of SafeZone Browser, Secure DNS, and Sandbox. Does not require registration, but does require a license or activation code.
- Avast Internet Security – Includes all the features of Pro, with the addition of a silent firewall and antispam. Does not need registration, but does require a license or activation code.
- Avast Premier – Includes all the features of Internet Security, with the addition of a data shredder, an "AccessAnywhere" service, and automatic software updater (for programs such as Google Chrome). Does not require registration, but does require a license or activation code.
- Avast Ultimate - Includes Avast Premier, SecurelineVPN, Cleanup Premium and Password Premium in one yearly cost
macOS products
- Avast Free Mac Security – An antivirus solution for Apple Macintosh machines running macOS based on a central virus-scanning daemon; offers three shields, on-demand scanning and WebRep clients which are automatically (optionally) installed to UC Browser, Safari, Chrome and Firefox browsers.

- Avast for Business – Free for small and medium-sized businesses (SMBs). It is a cross-platform solution that includes antivirus protection, Web threat scanning and integrated browser protection, and a cloud management console.[6]

- Avast Mobile Premium – Premium app for use on Android devices. Includes the features found in the free app plus app locking, geo-fencing, remote SMS, data recovery, Anti Theft and identification, and extended backup.
Tests and Reviews
In February 2018 test of various antimalware products by AV-TEST Avast Free Antivirus has earned 6 out of 6 points in "Protection" category, detecting 100% of malware samples used in this test and earning an "AV-TEST Certified" seal.[7] Avast's Mobile Security & Antivirus app has also performed well and detected 100% of malware samples in January 2018 test of Android malware by AV-Comparatives.[8] Recently, Avast Company acquired their biggest competitor Piriform. It is far more efficient as compared to various cleanup tools which can be found easily on different websites.

The Avast SecureLine VPN is an application developed by Avast Software that provides asubscription based virtual private network(VPN) service. It is available on Android,Microsoft Windows, macOS and iOS.[1]
SecureLine VPN users' internet traffic isencrypted and redirected through a tunnel via Avast data centers in order to anonymize their online activity, protect users from hacking and some forms of surveillance and allow anunrestricted access to the Internet.[2] A VPN also prevents user's browsing data and history from being collected and sold by ISPsor other entities that would normally have access to them.[3]
